The port city of Ostend will play host to a major European summit on wind energy on April 24th. European heads of government and ministers are expected to attend, including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The summit will take place at Fort Napoleon and will focus on the future of wind energy in Europe. Discussions will center on the development and deployment of wind energy technologies and their role in meeting the European Union’s ambitious greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.

The European summit is a testament to the growing importance of wind energy in the region. In recent years, wind energy has emerged as a critical part of the energy mix and is increasingly seen as a solution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This is not the first time Belgium has played host to a European summit. Nine years ago, the country hosted a similar event in Ypres. Next year, Belgium will hold the presidency of the European Union, making this wind energy summit a significant milestone in the country’s history.
