Ostend Science Park and Bluebridge were very honored to receive a delegation of the National Sun Yat-sen University of Taiwan on March 10th, 2020.

This was the first edition of the bilateral workshop between NSYSU and Ghent University, with Belgium serving as host country. The workshop in Bluebridge was all about Marine Engineering and Technology.

The College of Marine Sciences, NSYSU, is at the mid-point of a critical period of growth and improvement with the national strategic plan in green energy launched by the Taiwan government.
Through this ambitious wind energy policy, the Taiwan government aims to increase the capacity of offshore wind power of electricity to 5.5 GW by 2025. As a leading institute in marine sciences, we have elevated our academic programs, enhanced and expanded our teaching and research facilities, recruited outstanding academic scholars, and seek academic and research collaboration internationally for our research expertise.

With Ghent University, one of the top universities in Belgium, it is our goal to engage deep collaboration in the research areas like Biotechnology, Aquatic Ecology, Hydraulics, Coastal Engineering, and Maritime Technology.

During the 2020 UGent & NSYSU first bilateral workshop, a visit to Bluebridge and Ostend Science Park was part of this program.
